I really hope Anet continues to add skills to the Ritualist because this build has really make me grow fond of using them. Its certinaly gotten me a hell of alot of $$$ from farming the Oni down in Rheas.
Havent tried farming FoW with this yet so what has you guy's experiences been from doing it? (ie drops / # of shards)

Anet has said they will not continue to add skills, as this is not a core profession. Caveat: anet does sometimes change their minds.

The ritualist is a long underestimated farming powerhouse. Farming with this build is so easy its scary. I have been using the platform since the day it was posted and I still use it, always looking for challenges. Even though no more skills will be added, just imagine what possible synergy with new professions Anet will overlook, adding more and more to the already great repertoire of ritualist tricks.

My experience has been great with FOW - the forest is a quick run with the rit - usually i can complete an entire run in about 30-45 minutes. As for drops - its random, however I can usually count on at least 1 shard, and have had as many as 5 drop for me, with an average drop rate of 2 per run. The extra loot and items picked up usually net me another 5k - 8k, with the occassional gold drops which could potentially be worth lots of money. Don't forget your keys. I do think there may be more profitable runs in the long run from a pure risk/reward standpoint, but the challenge is great. I would highly recommend it.
I also agree with everyone else - there is so much I can do with this build and variation of it. It is definintely the most versatile solo farming build out there - and runs that seemed impossible at first, are now much more manageable. All it takes is a liitle practice, tweaking, and tactics.
My personal favorite place to farm has to be the Echovald Forest though. I think I net more gold per hour there than anywhere else. However, I'll leave the specifics up to the rest of you to find out for yourself
Thanks to all those who helped me see the potential of my ritualist and helped me from rags to riches!

There is a post here somewhere with a video and everything (although I didn't watch it)
The skill bar looks like this:
1. VwK
2. Vengeful Weapon
3. Soothing Memories
4. Troll Unguent
5. Distracting Shot
6. Storm Chaser
7. Quickening zephyr
8. Up to you I like to bring Generous Was Sungrai (sp?) for the added hp for the run there
QZ and storm chaser are for the spirit sheperds (to recharge VwK and for energy) - use a longbow so u dont get spiked
Distracting shot any spiders right after their apply poison to stop healing spring (or you can pull them out of the spring if u don't get the shot off)
Just be careful of the worm things as they can cripple and they use choking gas - I recommend only taking on 2 at a time - shoot a longbow to get their attention and then as the arrow is in the air use VwK so they dont interrupt it.
Check out the other post though for a much better description of how to do it if you're not familiar with the run and the area
Good Luck!

Just tested the /Me build today.
Tried several locations, but the most amusing was Riverside Province.
Soloing towers (got two down, think i can do the others as well) that some groups cannot take with 6
Just make sure VwK is echo-ed before you run into the group when it has mesmers. Else they scatter Arcane Echo and that makes it harder to stay alive.
Thanks for the build.

And you are ready to go ^^
(Dye it blue and it looks exactly as Spiritgarden's Repose)

I tried using the Rt/Me build last night in UW, and after 2 false starts (aggroing aatxes by accident), I made a run through the smite crawlers. I made almost enough money in the one successful run to cover the cost of my 3 runs, no ectos however. I was tempted to try rushing the coldfires and working them over, but I called it a night and packed it in. Definitely a fun build to play.

Ignore the skills used in the video :P
What's wrong with the Ritualist/Ranger build you used against the yetis in the video? It seemed to work well, and even with A-net's nerf of edge of extinction, VWK should take the yetis below 90% health. I'm enjoying the Rit/Mes build, but I only have factions, so my modified build doesn't work quite as well without Sympathetic Visage, Physical Resistance, and Channelling. All the same, thanks for sharing- 55 monks looked way too expensive to make and way too hard to run.

Im still loving this build for farming and don't think Ill grow to tired of it anytime soon. So many high level places can be solo'd with a few minor tweaks here and there for specific areas. Easier than 55'ing, more versatile than 55'ing and able to solo many more areas than what a 55 can. I just hope they keep away the nerf stick.

It's probably been mentioned (did a quick look at the posts):
Minos in Elona are super easy.
Trolls outside droks, also decently easy.
Avicara outside droks, are easy if you don't get interrupted.
Mighty Grawl north of droks, are doable. Just stay away from crones and barbed and let them kill themselves via normal attacks. Bosses may not die or are difficult.

Well that video is getting very old now, was shot during testing back when i used to farm the groups of am fah assassins outside marketplace before they made them mixed groups.
As for the ranger build that to was shot before the nerf to EoE but i think its still doable, have'nt tried it recently

Little update:
Avicara. Use Vengful before the Braves get to you. Also good to use AV/SV, one before they get there and the other when they are attacking. Reduces the interrupt.
Mighty Grawl. With physical resistance on, you will know when one has an Ice Breaker as you will take more damage than normal.
Was at the end of a run with 1 group of Grawl left, mixed with the ele boss. I know it hurts but is normally doable. Took massive damage from something over what the boss does, realized one of them must be holding the Ice Breaker. Took about half an hour or more but I finally got them dead and claimed my prize. Needed to heal a lot more than usual.
